Me and my boyfriend drunk :)

Me and a FUCKING MIME

I just moved to Venice Beach about two months ago. Before that I was living in Culver City. I work in Culver City right now at a cafe called The Wood. The foods really good actually, it's rated on Zaggat, I think it's spelled.
I got assaulted by a girl at my work that I used to work with that pretty much got fired for the same kind of intentions and behavoirs that got her fired in the first place. So I got a restraining order in Santa Monica. Oddly enough in Santa Monica I had a somewhat decent time talking to this producer who says his company is called BCE Entertainment and that he's working on putting out a show called "Cops Vs. Cons". It somehow involves UFC competitions between the cons and the cops too--not sure how that all works out, lol. Anyway, interesting stuff.
So now with the situation of being "assaulted," I was thrown into a wall by the crazy chick that I used to work with. Stupid stupid shit. If I wasn't at work and this shit happened she'd be FUCKED UP . . . anyway, whatever. There's a court date I have to meet to, so thats all fun. Sometimes I miss Hawaii where you can be your own police (because its not like cops in Hawaii do anything but steal your weed and give you a ticket for it anyway.)

And about some other things . . .

I live in a commune now, with about 20 or more other people. It's interesting. Right now I live in one of the units with my boy friend in a van. So I know its not ritzy living, but I guess it works fine when you're as poor as us. Our friend Jake and my boyfriend Jason and I are working on moving into a house boat in Marina Del Rey. A lot of people are doing that now. ARRGGHH!!! Lemme aboard my pirate ship!

At this moment I am not taking commissions, but if you would like to make an appointment and we can talk about it or would like to drop an idea or two feel free to leave a comment. Also you can leave your email or email me at angelrunawaygraphics@yahoo.com. The yahoo handle is named after my company and my graphic novel Angel Runaway so hopefully that will help you to remember it, although it is long! Soon I will be getting a pay-as-you-go phone for buisness calls so that'll help out too when I get that set up :)

All my commissions now require at least some kind of deposit or payment plan. Meaning you would pay part in a deposit check up front via the mail, or you submit a minimal deposit and pay over a course of months. Also involved is a contract that must be filled out, signed, and sent to me in the mail. However, I am willing to work with anyone. If you would like to talk to me about commissions, again schedule an appointment.

Also, within a few days to a week or so I will have updated my myspace and done some work on it. So please visit, that way you can get an idea of what I am selling, rates, and that sort of thing. Also you can see the different types of art I do in a more commercial, organized buy-buy-BuY! style :)
(search Angel Runaway Graphics on myspace.)

I also have a craigslist account which is random. Ask if you care, lol.

Andrew (Impermanenence): monster-truck skull tattoo (I still have yet to submit the final version! (and all the other versions too...)

Went to go see a band that Kelsey's friend Jason is in called Little Red Radio in downtown Los Angeles. I've heard their music, which is really damn good. But I've never seen them before this, so it was fun. Plus I got to hang out and talk with them. They have several offers to be signed right now but apparently are waiting for the opportune moment and the right company to show up--sounds like BMI is a likely choice. Kelsey and his friend are from Texas.

Also got to see another band, of whom borrowed Little Red Radio's equipment. Their name was The Dance Party. Very good, too, and I haven't heard of them. They're from Washington, D.C.

For more info about Impermanence, Kelsey's band Trace Elemental, Little Red Radio, and The Dance Party look on myspace. They'll be there. Also, I will be writing about them in Blue Fire Magazine.
This will also feature information about Angel Runaway too. This new issue, the second issue will be published, printed, and digitally submitted here by February 1st. And meanwhile, I also will be putting the first issue online, which is something I should have done a while ago! I have some new writers and submissions so I hope you'll enjoy it. Feel free to check it out when it shows.

Bluefire Magazine is free-reading online, obviously and you are not charged for viewing. If you meet me in person and want a copy the magazine will also be free then as well. Also, anyone interested in advertising, if you submit an advertisement into the magazine it is a fee of $10, but you do get the free magazine plus a free line-art commission, which can also be commercial and used for further advertising.

For fellow writers and artists of whom are interested here is some information:

Blue Fire Magazine deadlines:

-January 15th: When all articles due
-January 20th: When all articles will be edited (for grammar. There is no censorship. However undesired articles will be turned down completely.)
-January 25th: When all articles are to completely edited (and editor has consulted with the writer)
**Feb 1st: Publication deadline for second issue of Blue Fire Magazine

Unemployment's A Painful Gift

Life's a bitch and then you die, that's how the quote goes, doesn't it?
Speaking of quotes. Here are some from a Christopher Rice book I am reading, called "Snow Garden" and apparently it's a mystery novel. Cool. He's the son of Anne Rice--he comes from a family of famous writers. Though that's total setup for his ass to get recognition I am not going to lie and say he's not a really good author. Because he is amazing!

"I think it's interesting how some people make concessions for the beautiful, but you hold them to a higher standard." (p.39)

sadly but truthfull applies to me . . .

and

"You might want to sleep with him. Just once," Randall said.
"I'm going to pretend you didn't just say that."
"Why Kathryn? It might take away his mystique."
"He doesn't have any mystique."
"That must be why we're talking about him then." (p.38-39.)

I can totally relate to this conversation.

So right now it is almost six in the morning. I was so tired around 10:00 at night. Around that time I kicked my friend out of my apartment because he passed out again for over an hour and refused to talk out some sort of disregard. That's okay sometimes--mostly if I've known you much longer. All I ask is for respect. At least ask if you can pass out for hours without talking, and or will be falling asleep and staying the night 'till noon the next day. Not to mention you've already done this countless times already. Annoying as fuck. I know that he's going to rehab tomarrow and then jail after that, I'll visit and send letters, but I want some appreciation. Either way, I am still proud of his decision to go of his own will.

My roommate as of a month ago--outcast roommate from a different band than the one that just moved out from upstairs (Impermanence) is completely passed out. I give him huge kudos for cleaning the bathroom the other day and today the kitchen. I've been cleaning constantly and want to scream. The guy's a helpful bad ass, what can I say? (His band, of which is stagnant and makes him roll his eyes and groan to think of it--has a name called Trace Elemental. There's pride to be spoken of for the band he was in before that, Triple Shot. Apparently they went on tour around the U.S. and was on MTV.)

This last week I have been renovating, making space for the new roomie, and cleaning up a pile of grody dishes for Impermanence that I never imagined possible but always feared cleaning. Fortunately Sqweek or however you spell his damn name gave me a joint and that helped things out. Been drinking and smoking almost everyday, didn't drink today suprsiningly. Did some tagging last week in Laguna Niguel which is definately ironic but very nice. I hate that place. First time tagging.. rad... Also been jamming with Dennis and Justin and I just love the Tall Boys and their music. They sing on the streets, totally cool like me and Molly used to.

Been working on the novel a lot. Also went to Winter Sawdust Festival and sold some artwork for Shane Townley. But I got pissed off and didn't go the last weekend because I was stressed out and hadn't payed my gas bill--so I couldn't cook, clean, or take a shower. And I had been taking the bus to work to boot--and yes people have it worse, but sometimes stress gets you down. I told him that I was stressed and maybe shouldn't go, or would be late and he got pissy. Apologized the next day, but who cares? There's no fun in commission pay for selling someone else's art and no hourly when they obviously don't care about you.

An ex boyfriend came back from Seattle after a year and we hung out Christmas Eve and he saved me from certain self-destruction delivered by a lot of rum, beer, a mixed drink and a lot of other equally or more fucked up people on New Years (yoyotoshio mein!!!) Saw best friends's new house in Lake Elsinore and it was huge and awesome and got to me their kitties. Cool cool.

Still working at 9 Style Sushi, but still not a wall decoration! It's been over a year now--so that's a comforting thought. That is despite shitty pay and hours. But that's okay, there's worse suffering out there. At least I have something. Got to find something . . . Applying to more places this week. At least I've had some time to self evaluate and work on more art and music, etc etc.

Worked on a song with Kelsey today--an old song that I wrote a while ago, but now we're trying to put a drumline in it since he's a drummer (obviously.) White Stripes is giving us some inspiration in this occassion, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm seriously considering moving to Los Angeles--Hollywood specifically, for school. Not sure how, but when? Soon. I may even decide to just finish school from over there and drive way too fucking far out of my crazy-jackass-ness.

I am actually getting tired now.. and if Impermanence doesn't answer their damn phones now that I finished the drummer's tattoos just cause they're in Huntington Beach now someone is going to get an ass whooping. Actually what I really plan to do is a) sell their tattoos to other people for a lot of money b)copyright their designs in my name or under my company and c)if they copy their designs for any use whatsoever I will sue them for stealing my intellectual property and d)sue them for wasting my money in using my nicely affordable Pre-paid legal account to hire a lawyer (technically for no charge.) And of course for wasting my time, my breath, and a steady aching artist's hand.

I really needed that good rant.

vote dammit
